Content Management Systems: WordPress

We strongly recommend WordPress for almost all subscription site needs. While there are dozens of CMSs out there, the simplicity and flexibility of WordPress keep it our favorite. We have built dozens of sites with WordPress and continue to be amazed at how much you can do with it.

Installation is easy, especially if you are using a host with Control Panel (such as Bluehost). Control Panel can install WordPress on your site in a matter of clicks, no programming knowledge needed.

Hosting: Bluehost

We have been using Bluehost for our website hosting for almost 7 years, and have never had a problem. They are quick to respond when you need help, answer the phone quickly when you call, and provide unlimited bandwidth and site hosting for only $6.95/month.

Recurring Payment Systems: Chargify

Chargify is leading the pack in tools that allow you to accept and manage payments and subscribers online. With our plugin, you can easily connect WordPress to Chargify and control what content your users see, who sees it, and how much they must pay for access.

Merchant Account: Bank of America

Payment Gateway: Authorize.net

In order to accept payments online, you’ll need both a merchant account and a payment gateway. Subscription Tools uses Authorize.net, which works with just about every merchant account available, and is an industry leader.
